Things are nearing an end ... finally. We have now completed all of the topsides with a final coat of high gloss linear polyurethane. Prior to that was two complete coats of spray bog over every external part of the boat which had to be sanded back with 180 grit sandpaper. Any large imperfections were filled and sanded at this point. Then it was sprayed with a coat of high build, which we had to sand again with 240 grit sandpaper to prepare for the gloss coat. It was actually quicker than we thought it would be, producing a standard of finish we were very happy with. All that is left to do now is prep & paint the hull sides to the waterline & to spray on the antifouling. Below are a series of pics of the finished off white high gloss and the light brown non-skid deck, which still has the tape around the edges. |
