The electrical system is predominantly a 24 Volt system with a 12 Volt portion for a few of the navigational systems. It has been designed with a house bank of batteries with solar & alternator charging & a dedicated starter bank of batteries. We have chosen not to have shore power, nor have we included a 240 volt generator in the effort to adhere to the KISS principle. Our calculations indicate an ample supply will be maintained from solar & alternator charging of batteries.

House bank - 8 'Trojan' 225 amp 6 volt batteries in two separate ventilated boxes. 450 amp hours @ 24 volts. House bank charging will be via a 'Prestolite' 110 amp @ 24 volt cruising alternator, belt driven from the Gardner engine, to be remotely mounted on the engine bearer due to its size. Regulation will be handled by a 'Mastervolt' smart charger with a temperature sensor connected to the smart charger as well.

The house bank system will also be supplemented by 4 x 80 watt (12 volt) solar panels through a 'Plasmatronic' 20 Amp solar regulator (PL20).

Refrigeration is 'ICEER' Eutectic, separate fridge & freezer, electrically driven compressors.

Inverter is the 'Selectronics' WM1500 pure sinewave inverter. 1600 watts @ 24 volts. This inverter is designed to run a small microwave, TV, DVD player, computer with a few outlets for other small devices.

The 12 volt communications & navigation systems will be run through a DC to DC converter with separate circuit breaker panel.
